Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 slices American cheese
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
4 tbsp ketchup
4 tbsp yellow mustard
4 tbsp mayonnaise
4 dill pickle slices
4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. In a bowl, toss potato fries with oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Meanwhile, divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch thick patties, making a slight indentation in the center. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Grill or pan-fry patties over medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side for medium. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: spread mayonnaise on bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, cheeseburger patty, ketchup, mustard, and pickle slices. Top with bun top.
Serve burgers immediately with hot fries and extra ketchup on the side.
Tips
Use 80/20 ground beef for juicy burgers; avoid overworking the meat.
Let patties rest for 2 minutes after cooking to retain juices.
Fries can be seasoned with your favorite spices like cayenne or rosemary.
Store leftover cooked patties and fries separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
