Ingredients
1 soft hamburger bun
1 (4 oz) beef patty (80/20 ground beef, formed into a thin patty slightly larger than the bun)
1 slice American cheese
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 dill pickle slice
1 small handful shredded lettuce
1 small potato (about 4 oz), cut into thin fries
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for fries)
Salt to taste
1 small apple juice box or 6 oz apple juice
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss potato fries with oil and salt, spread on a baking sheet, and bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
While fries bake, season the beef patty with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. In the last minute, place cheese slice on patty and cover pan to melt.
Toast the hamburger bun in the skillet or toaster until lightly golden.
Assemble burger: Spread ketchup and mustard on bottom bun, add pickle slice, lettuce, then cheese-topped patty. Close with top bun.
Serve burger with fries and apple juice box. For a complete happy meal, include a small toy or sticker.
Tips
For extra crispiness, soak cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes before baking.
Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
To make it a true happy meal, serve in a small box with a napkin and a tiny toy.
