3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1 (20-ounce) package cheese ravioli, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, cook ravioli according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain well.
Add cooked ravioli to the marinara sauce and gently toss to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Serve in bowls, topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Tips
For a spicier sauce, add 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes with the garlic.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To reheat, add a splash of water or olive oil and warm gently on the stovetop or microwave.
