Ingredients
2 cups whole milk
1 cup corn flakes or other sweetened cereal (e.g., Frosted Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
1 tablespoon sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Place the cereal in a medium bowl and pour the milk over it. Stir gently to combine.
Let the mixture steep for 15-20 minutes at room temperature, stirring occasionally. Do not over-steep or it may become bitter.
Strain the milk through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl or measuring cup, pressing gently on the cereal to extract as much milk as possible. Discard the cereal.
Stir in sugar (if using) and vanilla extract until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve cold over ice or use as a base for smoothies, coffee, or desserts.
Tips
For a richer flavor, use half-and-half or a mix of milk and cream.
Try different cereals like Froot Loops or Cocoa Puffs for varied flavors.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; shake before serving.
