2 oz reposado tequila (e.g., Patrón)
1 oz orange liqueur (e.g., Grand Marnier)
1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 oz agave nectar (optional, to taste)
Coarse salt for rimming the glass
Lime wheel or wedge for garnish

Instructions
Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt to coat. Fill the glass with ice.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar (if using). Shake vigorously until well-chilled, about 15 seconds.
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately.
Tips
For a smoother taste, use a high-quality reposado or añejo tequila.
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less agave nectar.
To make a frozen version, blend all ingredients with 1 cup of ice until smooth.
