Ingredients
1 lb ground bison
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
4 hamburger buns
4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles for topping
Instructions
In a bowl, combine ground bison with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium, or until desired doneness. If using cheese, add a slice during the last minute of cooking.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: place patty on bun bottom, add toppings, and cover with bun top.
Tips
Handle bison meat minimally to keep burgers tender; do not overwork.
Bison is lean; avoid overcooking to prevent dryness.
Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
