A warm and comforting dessert featuring juicy mixed berries topped with a buttery, crunchy oat crumble. Perfect for showcasing fresh or frozen berries.
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or similar.
In a large bowl, gently toss the berries with granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the berry mixture.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the filling is bubbly and the topping is golden brown. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Tips
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
If using frozen berries, do not thaw them first; add 5-10 minutes to baking time.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
