Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 hard taco shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Warm taco shells according to package directions.
- Fill each shell with beef mixture. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. Serve immediately.
