Ingredients
1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
1/2 cup BBQ sauce, plus more for drizzling
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup sliced red onion
2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
On a floured surface, stretch or roll pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza peel.
Spread 1/2 cup BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
Sprinkle cooked beef over the sauce, then top with mozzarella cheese and red onion slices.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from oven, drizzle with additional BBQ sauce, and sprinkle with cilantro. Slice and serve.
Tips
For a smokier flavor, use smoked mozzarella or add a pinch of smoked paprika to the beef.
Leftover pizza can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
