Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- While wings bake, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
- Remove wings from oven and brush generously with the glaze. Return to oven and bake for another 10 minutes, until glaze is sticky and caramelized.
- Optional: For extra char, broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
- Substitute chicken drumsticks or thighs; adjust cooking time as needed.
- Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, place in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes or air fry at 375°F for 5 minutes.
- For a spicy kick, add 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the glaze.
