Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 slices cheddar cheese
8 slices bacon
4 hamburger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
ketchup and mustard to taste
Instructions
Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
Grill or pan-fry patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a toaster.
Assemble burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, patty with cheese, 2 slices bacon, and condiments. Top with bun.
Serve immediately.
Tips
Use 80/20 ground beef for juicier burgers.
Let patties rest for 5 minutes after cooking.
Store leftover patties and bacon separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
