Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside.
- Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Reserve 1 tablespoon bacon fat.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet with the reserved bacon fat and cook until golden, about 5 minutes. Season with pepper.
- Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch round. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper.
- Spread pizza sauce over dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with mozzarella, then mushrooms and bacon. Sprinkle with oregano and Parmesan.
- Slide pizza (on parchment) onto preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool for 2 minutes, then slice and serve.
Tips
- For extra flavor, add a drizzle of truffle oil after baking.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a hot oven or skillet.
