Ingredients
1 lb flank steak or sirloin
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
4 cups mixed salad greens
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cucumber, sliced
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp fish sauce (for dressing)
1 tsp sugar
1 red chili, thinly sliced
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, 1 tbsp fish sauce, brown sugar, oil, and garlic. Add beef, coat well, and marinate for 15 minutes.
2. Preheat grill or grill pan to high heat. Grill beef for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
3. For dressing, whisk together lime juice, 1 tbsp fish sauce, sugar, and chili.
4. In a large bowl, toss salad greens, tomatoes, cucumber, mint, and cilantro. Add sliced beef and dressing; toss gently.
5. Divide among plates and top with chopped peanuts.
Tips
Substitute chicken or tofu for beef if desired.
