Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.
Stir in paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil.
Stir in elbow macaroni, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until pasta is tender, about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaf. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Serve hot, optionally topped with shredded cheddar cheese or fresh parsley.
Tips
For a richer flavor, use a mix of ground beef and ground pork.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To reheat, add a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce.
