Ingredients
4 lbs Alaskan king crab legs, thawed if frozen
1 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Optional: 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
Instructions
If crab legs are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or place in a colander under cold running water for 30 minutes.
Add 1 cup water (and optional Old Bay seasoning) to a large pot with a steamer basket. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Place crab legs in the steamer basket, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
While crab legs steam, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Keep warm.
Remove crab legs from pot, transfer to a platter, and serve immediately with melted butter and lemon wedges.
Tips
For even heating, cut extra-long legs in half at the joint.
Leftover crab meat can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Serve with crusty bread to soak up any extra butter.
