Ingredients
1 medium ripe pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
4 cups cold water
2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
ice cubes for serving
fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Place pineapple chunks in a blender with 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
Add remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, and lime juice. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
Tips
For a less sweet agua, omit sugar and rely on the natural sweetness of the pineapple.
Stored in the refrigerator, Agua de Piña keeps for up to 3 days. Stir before serving.
