Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
4 sesame seed hamburger buns
4 slices American cheese
4 large lettuce leaves
1 large tomato, sliced into 8 rounds
1/2 white onion, sliced into rings
4 dill pickle slices
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the buns. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Grill or pan-sear patties over high heat for 4 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with a cheese slice and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun and ketchup on the top bun.
Assemble: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato (2 slices), onion rings, pickles, patty with cheese, top bun.
Serve immediately.
