Ingredients
2 beef patties (4 oz each, 80/20 ground beef)
1 sesame seed bun
2 slices American cheese
1/4 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
2 slices tomato
3 pickle slices
2 slices red onion
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Season patties with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry over high heat for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast the bun cut-side down on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Spread ketchup on the bottom bun and mayonnaise on the top bun.
Layer lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion on the bottom bun.
Place the first patty on the toppings, then add the second patty on top.
Close with the top bun and serve immediately.
