3 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 ounces sliced roasted turkey breast
4 slices crispy cooked bacon
2 leaves iceberg or romaine lettuce
2 slices ripe tomato
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Toast the bread slices until golden brown. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on one side of each toast slice.
On a plate, place one slice of toast, mayonnaise side up. Layer half of the turkey, then 2 slices of bacon, then 1 lettuce leaf, and 1 tomato slice. Season with salt and pepper.
Top with second slice of toast, mayonnaise side up. Repeat layers with remaining turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Season again.
Place the third slice of toast on top, mayonnaise side down. Press gently. Secure with toothpicks if desired.
Cut the sandwich diagonally into quarters. Serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, add sliced avocado or a sprinkle of fresh herbs like basil.
To keep the sandwich from getting soggy, place the lettuce and tomato between the meat layers.
Serve with potato chips or a pickle spear on the side.
