Ingredients
4 cups water
1/2 cup Thai tea mix (Cha Tra Mue brand recommended)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup evaporated milk
ice cubes
Instructions
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add Thai tea mix and sugar, stir to dissolve. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, pressing on the leaves to extract all liquid.
Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.
Fill two tall glasses with ice. Pour chilled tea over ice, filling each glass about 2/3 full.
Add 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk to each glass. Stir well to combine. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Tips
For a stronger tea flavor, steep for up to 10 minutes.
Use whole milk instead of evaporated milk for a richer texture.
Store leftover tea (without milk) in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
