- 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water; stir and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Remove skillet from oven. Sprinkle cooked beef over tater tots, then top with shredded cheese.
- Return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes until cheese is melted.
- Top with diced tomatoes, green onions, sour cream, and salsa. Serve hot.
Tips
- For extra heat, add diced jalapeños or use spicy taco seasoning.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
