1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine rice cereal squares and pretzel twists. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar and corn syrup; stir until smooth and bubbling, about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, baking soda, and salt. The mixture will foam slightly.
Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal mixture and stir gently until evenly coated.
Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
Bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Let cool completely on the baking sheet. Break into clusters if desired.
Tips
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
For a chocolate version, drizzle melted dark chocolate over the cooled mix.
Add dried fruit or nuts after baking for extra texture.
