Ingredients
4 leftover cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)
3 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Maple syrup, for serving
Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Slice each cinnamon roll in half horizontally to create two thinner rounds.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
Place a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon butter. Let it melt and foam.
Dip each cinnamon roll half into the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Let excess drip off.
Place dipped rolls in the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining butter and rolls.
Serve immediately with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
Tips
Use day-old cinnamon rolls for best texture; fresh ones may become too soggy.
Keep cooked French toast warm on a baking sheet in a 200°F oven while cooking remaining batches.
Add a splash of orange juice or zest to the egg mixture for a citrus twist.
