Ingredients
1 medium head napa cabbage (about 1.5 lbs)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
Cut the napa cabbage in half lengthwise, then slice crosswise into 1-inch wide strips. Rinse and drain well.
Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until shimmering.
Add garlic slices and stir-fry for 15 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 2 minutes, using tongs to toss constantly.
Sprinkle salt and sugar over the cabbage, then add soy sauce. Continue stir-frying for another 2 minutes until the cabbage is wilted but still crisp-tender.
Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
Tips
For extra heat, add a sliced red chili pepper along with the garlic.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat in a hot wok.
Serve as a side dish with steamed rice and grilled or stir-fried protein.
