Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank's RedHot)
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray rack with nonstick spray.
Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
While wings bake, prepare the sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine minced garlic, hot sauce, melted butter, honey, soy sauce, paprika, and cayenne (if using). Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer baked wings to a large bowl. Pour sauce over wings and toss to coat evenly.
Serve immediately with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing, if desired.
Tips
For extra crispy wings, let them dry in the refrigerator uncovered for 1 hour before baking.
Adjust the heat by reducing or omitting cayenne pepper.
Leftover wings can be reheated in an air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
