Ingredients
2 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
1 cup frozen berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, or mixed)
1/2 cup plain yogurt or milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Place banana slices and frozen berries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
Transfer frozen fruit to a blender. Add yogurt (or milk), honey (if using), and vanilla extract.
Blend on high until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. For a smoothie, blend until creamy. For a slushie, pulse until icy and slushy.
Taste and adjust sweetness if desired. Serve immediately.
Tips
For a thicker smoothie, use less liquid or add more frozen fruit.
To make ahead, store frozen fruit in a zip-top bag. Blend when ready.
Add a handful of spinach for a green smoothie without altering flavor much.
