Ingredients
1 (16 oz) can refried beans
1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
3 ripe avocados
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa (mild or medium)
2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
1 (2.25 oz) can sliced black olives, drained
3 green onions, sliced
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix refried beans with taco seasoning until well combined. Spread evenly in the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish or a large pie plate.
Halve and pit avocados. Scoop flesh into a medium bowl. Add lime juice, salt, and garlic powder. Mash with a fork to desired consistency (chunky or smooth). Spread over bean layer.
Spread sour cream over guacamole layer, then carefully spread salsa over sour cream.
Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over salsa layer. Top with black olives and green onions.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve with tortilla chips.
Tips
For a spicier dip, use hot salsa or add chopped jalapeños to the guacamole.
Can be made up to 24 hours in advance; cover tightly and refrigerate.
If making ahead, wait to add the cheese and toppings until just before serving to keep them fresh.
