Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 2 minutes. Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain well and pat dry.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant but not browned, about 30 seconds.
Add green beans, salt, and pepper. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until beans are heated through and slightly blistered, about 4-5 minutes.
Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice if desired. Toss to combine and serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet.
