  2. In the same pot, add sliced peppers and onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, oregano, salt, and pepper. Return sausages to the pot, nestling them into the sauce.
  4. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes, until sausages are cooked through and flavors meld.
  5. Serve sausages and peppers on hoagie rolls or over rice, spooning sauce on top.
