2 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tablespoon butter, softened
Instructions
Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Spread the softened butter on the cut sides of the croissant. Place the croissant halves in the skillet, cut side down, and toast for about 1 minute until golden.
Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom half of the croissant (if using). Layer the sausage patties and cheese slices on top.
Place the top half of the croissant on the sandwich. Return the sandwich to the skillet and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula, until the cheese is melted and the croissant is warm.
Remove from skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a fried egg or a slice of tomato.
Use a panini press or toaster oven to melt the cheese more evenly.
Substitute with turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a lighter option.
