Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
4 slices American cheese
8 slices bacon
4 hamburger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
4 tablespoons ketchup
4 tablespoons yellow mustard
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 pickle slices
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions (6 oz each). Shape into patties slightly larger than the buns, season with salt and pepper.
Grill or pan-fry patties over high heat for 4 minutes per side for medium. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: spread mayonnaise on bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, patty with cheese, bacon, and top bun spread with ketchup and mustard.
Serve immediately.
Tips
For best results, use freshly ground beef with 20% fat.
Let patties rest for 2 minutes after cooking to retain juices.
Customize with extra toppings like jalapeños or barbecue sauce.
