Ingredients
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, and cayenne if using.
Whisk over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and just begins to simmer, about 3 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and let it simmer gently for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and let cool completely before using as a marinade or glaze.
To use as a marinade: pour over pork in a resealable bag, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Reserve some for basting.
To use as a glaze: brush onto pork roast during the last 15-20 minutes of roasting.
Tips
Store leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For a thicker glaze, simmer an additional 2-3 minutes.
This glaze also works well with chicken or salmon.
