A tangy, salty, and slightly spicy snack that combines the crunch of popcorn with the bold flavors of dill pickles. Perfect for movie nights or as a unique party treat.
In a large pot with a lid, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover. When they pop, add the remaining kernels, cover, and shake the pot. Cook, shaking occasionally, until popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops. Remove from heat and let sit until popping stops.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and pickle juice.
Drizzle the butter-pickle mixture over the popcorn, tossing to coat evenly.
Sprinkle the dill pickle seasoning (or the dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt) and black pepper over the popcorn, tossing again to distribute.
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Tips
For extra tang, add more pickle juice to taste, but be careful not to make the popcorn soggy.
If using pre-popped popcorn, use about 8 cups and skip step 1.
