Ingredients
2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
1-2 tablespoons peanut oil (optional, for smoother consistency)
Instructions
Place the roasted peanuts in a food processor fitted with the steel blade.
Process for 1 minute, then scrape down the sides. The peanuts will go from chopped to a thick paste.
Continue processing for 2-3 more minutes, scraping as needed, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Add salt and sweetener (if using) and process briefly to combine.
If the peanut butter is too thick, add oil 1 tablespoon at a time and process until desired consistency is reached.
Transfer to an airtight jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Tips
For crunchy peanut butter, stir in 1/4 cup chopped peanuts after processing.
Allow the peanut butter to come to room temperature before spreading for easier handling.
Stir natural peanut butter before each use as oil may separate.
