Ingredients
1 pound spaghetti
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
8 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt to taste
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook until garlic is golden, about 2 minutes.
Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time, tossing, until the sauce coats the pasta. Remove from heat.
Stir in parsley and Parmesan. Season with salt to taste. Serve immediately.
Tips
Use high-quality extra-virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
To make it spicier, add more red pepper flakes to taste.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat with a splash of olive oil.
