Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Set aside.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer to the pan. Continue cooking without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in the toasted nuts, vanilla extract, baking soda, and butter. The mixture will foam up; stir until well combined.
  5. Immediately pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a greased spatula or offset spatula, spread into an even layer about 1/4-inch thick.
  6. Allow to cool completely at room temperature, about 30 minutes. Once hard, break into pieces.
