Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup ketchup (for glaze or topping)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) if making meatloaf.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix gently until just combined.
For meatloaf: Shape mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan. Spread ketchup on top. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
For burger patties: Divide mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch thick patties. Grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through. Top with ketchup if desired.
Tips
For extra moisture, add 1/4 cup grated Parmesan or shredded cheese to the mixture.
Leftover meatloaf makes great sandwiches.
Burger patties can be frozen uncooked for up to 3 months.
