Ingredients
1 English muffin, split and toasted
1 sausage patty (about 2 oz)
1 large egg
1 tablespoon milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1 frozen hash brown patty
1 slice American cheese
1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
Cook the frozen hash brown patty according to package directions (usually in a skillet with oil or in an air fryer) until golden and crispy. Keep warm.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with milk, salt, and pepper. Melt 1/2 tablespoon butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring gently, until soft curds form. Remove from heat.
In the same skillet, cook the sausage patty over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. During the last minute, top with cheese slice and cover to melt.
Toast the English muffin halves and spread with remaining butter.
Assemble: Place the cheesy sausage patty on the bottom half of the English muffin. Top with scrambled egg. Place the hash brown on the side or on top of the egg. Close with the top muffin half.
Serve immediately with your favorite coffee or orange juice.
Tips
For a crispier hash brown, cook in a little oil and flip only once.
You can substitute the sausage patty with bacon or a vegetarian patty.
To save time, cook the hash brown and sausage simultaneously in separate pans.
