Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb smoked kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
- Stir in sauerkraut, chicken broth, caraway seeds, pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer.
- Return kielbasa to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove bay leaf before serving.
