Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
4 hamburger buns
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices
4 onion slices (optional)
4 tbsp ketchup
4 tbsp mustard
4 large potatoes (for fries)
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika
4 cups mixed salad greens
1/4 cup vinaigrette dressing
Instructions
Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat. In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns.
Grill or cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium, or until desired doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Meanwhile, cut potatoes into thin fries. Toss with olive oil, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Toast hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned.
Assemble burgers: place lettuce, tomato, onion on bottom bun, then patty with cheese, then ketchup and mustard. Top with bun.
Toss salad greens with vinaigrette. Serve burgers with fries and salad on the side.
Tips
For juicier patties, make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
Let patties rest for 2-3 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices.
Fries can be seasoned with salt, pepper, or your favorite spices after baking.
Leftover patties can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet.
