Ingredients
1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 (1-pound) ham steak, about 1/2 inch thick
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine crushed pineapple with its juice, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves. Stir until well blended.
Pat ham steak dry with paper towels. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ham steak and cook until browned, about 3 minutes per side.
Pour the pineapple glaze over the ham steak. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, turning the ham occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the ham, about 5-7 minutes.
Transfer ham to a cutting board and let rest for 2 minutes. Slice against the grain into serving portions. Spoon any remaining glaze from the skillet over the ham before serving.
Tips
Serve with steamed rice or roasted vegetables to soak up the extra glaze.
Leftover ham and glaze can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
