Ingredients
2 cups crushed granola bars (about 8-10 bars, any flavor)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional, if bars are unsweetened)
Instructions
Place the granola bars in a zip-top bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the crushed granola bar crumbs with the melted butter. If using unsweetened bars, add the sugar and mix well until all crumbs are moistened.
Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate or springform pan. Use the bottom of a measuring cup to press firmly.
Refrigerate the crust for at least 30 minutes before filling to set. For a firmer crust, freeze for 15 minutes.
Tips
For a gluten-free crust, use gluten-free granola bars.
Store leftover crust (unfilled) in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
This crust can also be baked at 350°F for 8-10 minutes for a crunchier texture; let cool before filling.
