Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (16 oz) bag tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup pico de gallo or salsa
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Spread half the tortilla chips on a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Top with half the beef, black beans, and cheese.
- Add remaining chips, then remaining beef, beans, and cheese.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and top with pico de gallo, sour cream, avocado, jalapeños, and cilantro. Serve immediately.
Tips
- For extra heat, add a drizzle of hot sauce before serving.
- If serving a crowd, double the recipe and use two baking sheets.
- Leftover nachos can be stored in the fridge but are best eaten fresh.
