Ingredients
1 cup diced peaches (canned, drained)
1 cup diced pears (canned, drained)
1 cup pineapple chunks (canned, drained)
1 cup seedless grapes, halved
1 cup mandarin orange segments (canned, drained)
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Let cool to room temperature.
In a large bowl, combine peaches, pears, pineapple, grapes, mandarin oranges, and cherries.
Pour the cooled syrup over the fruit and gently stir to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to blend.
Serve chilled.
Tips
For a fresher taste, use fresh fruit in season and adjust sugar to taste.
Add a splash of orange liqueur or kirsch for an adult version.
