Ingredients
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 12 full sheets)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar; mix well.
Pour melted butter over the crumb mixture and stir with a fork until all crumbs are evenly moistened.
Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch pie plate or springform pan. Press firmly and evenly into the bottom and up the sides using the bottom of a measuring cup or your fingers.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before filling, or bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes if a firmer crust is desired. Cool completely before adding filling.
Tips
For a chocolate crust, substitute 1/2 cup of graham cracker crumbs with chocolate cookie crumbs.
To make ahead, press crust into pan and freeze for up to 1 month; thaw before filling.
If using a springform pan, press crumbs only about 1 inch up the sides for easier slicing.
