Ingredients
1 cup crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
Place the cookies or crackers in a resealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until you have fine crumbs, or pulse in a food processor.
In a small bowl, combine the crumbs, melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon (if using). Stir with a fork until the mixture is evenly moistened and clumps together.
Sprinkle the crumb mixture over your pie filling or crust as desired. Press gently to adhere.
If you prefer a toasted topping, bake the pie with the topping at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until golden, but this step is optional.
Tips
Store any leftover topping in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free cookies or crackers.
