Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add the cold butter cubes. Using a pastry blender or your fingertips, work the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized butter pieces.
Use immediately over prepared fruit filling, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Tips
For extra crunch, add 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds) with the dry ingredients.
If the topping browns too quickly during baking, tent loosely with foil.
This recipe can be doubled easily for larger crisps.
