Ingredients
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
Spread the mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Remove from oven and let cool completely. The topping will crisp up as it cools.
Use immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Tips
For extra flavor, add 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley or chives after baking.
This topping can be made ahead and stored; re-crisp in a 350°F oven for 3-4 minutes if needed.
Sprinkle over tuna casserole just before serving to maintain crunch.
