Ingredients
2 cups baked potato chips (plain or lightly salted)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt to taste (optional)
Instructions
Place the potato chips in a large resealable plastic bag and gently crush them with a rolling pin or your hands until you have coarse crumbs (some larger pieces are fine).
In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chips, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Toss until evenly coated.
Taste and add a pinch of salt if needed (chips may already be salty).
Use immediately as a topping, or spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes for extra crunch.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Tips
For a cheesy version, add 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese with the seasonings.
This topping works great on mac and cheese, baked potatoes, or green bean casserole.
If using flavored chips (like barbecue or sour cream & onion), adjust seasonings accordingly.
