Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add cold butter pieces and use a pastry blender or your fingertips to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized butter bits.
Use immediately over fruit filling, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Tips
For extra crunch, add 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) with the dry ingredients.
If topping browns too quickly during baking, tent loosely with foil.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
